Zachary Andrew Roy

Zachary Roy is a research engineer and project coordinator for the Department of Rehabilitation Science and Technology. His duties are focused on the Healthy Home Laboratory, a community research space in a more than 100-year-old home on the Oakland campus that is dedicated to the development of assistive technologies, assessments and interventions to help people age-in-place in their homes. As part of a team of designers, engineers and clinicians, Roy supports the design of multiple novel assistive technology projects by ideating, developing and performing standardized testing on physical prototypes. He also manages the day-to-day operations of the Healthy Home Laboratory and engages with external partners to produce multidisciplinary collaborations. He is currently pursuing a Master of Science in Bioengineering - Medical Product Engineering from the University of Pittsburgh Swanson School of Engineering. He is a graduate of the University of Pittsburgh Swanson School of Engineering where he received his Bachelor of Science in Bioengineering with a concentration in Medical Product Engineering and minors in Mechanical Engineering and Studio Arts.
