In 2020, Natalie Brahm made the transition to full-time academia and is now in her thirteenth year as a Physician Assistant (PA). Throughout her career, her clinical practice has predominantly focused on general surgery and wound care.
Brahm’s passion for teaching in PA education developed through her past experiences precepting former PA students. Each interaction opened her eyes to the profound impact she could have, not only on her students but also on the patients they would go on to serve. By instructing and mentoring the next generation of PAs, she can amplify her reach, ultimately improving patient care on a larger scale. This aspect of her career is incredibly fulfilling, as she finds immense joy in guiding aspiring PAs to develop their skills and compassion, knowing they will carry forward the lessons learned to make a meaningful difference in countless lives.
Brahm is deeply committed to serving our unhoused population through her service with Pitt's Street Medicine Team. This experience has not only reinforced her dedication to providing compassionate care but has also shown her the profound resilience of those we serve, motivating her to advocate for their health and well-being in meaningful ways.
