Hanie is an adjunct faculty at the School of Health and Rehabilitation. She has a Ph.D. in Industrial Engineering. Her research has been mostly in the area of optimization and Data Science in health applications. During her PhD, she collaborated with UPMC Children's Hospital in Pittsburgh to create a decision support system for medical problems. Her recent collaboration was with the Center for Disease Control and Prevention(CDC) on creating Predictive models for epidemic diseases. Currently, she is teaching Data Science in Health Informatics to undergraduate students.
