Summary:
Alexandra Gil of the Department of Physical Therapy teaches in the DPT program evidence-based practice series: PT2072, PT2073, PT2075 (Co-Instructor); and in the MS in Physical Therapy program: HRS2907. In addition to teaching, Gil serves as the administrative director of the Physical Therapy Clinical and Translational Science Center with a focus on facilitating clinical and translational research in the area of rehabilitation sciences. Gil has played a significant role as a project director and co-investigator responsible for the general management and execution of clinical trials funded by NIAMS, NIA and PCORI, including two multi-center trials funded by NINDS and AHRQ.
She also serves as a manuscript reviewer for JOSPT, Clinical Biomechanics and PM&R and co-authored 13 journal articles. Her academic and research interests are: Evidence-Based Physical Therapy Practice in Clinical Performance Improvement; Biomechanics of the Lower Extremity; Rehabilitation in knee osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis and total knee replacement; Clinical Trials Data Quality and Implementation.
