Tim Suchomel has always had a passion for sports. After finishing his competitive career, he shifted focus to improving the performance of athletes through various strength and conditioning practices. Suchomel has found that gaining a more thorough understanding of how to train athletes is the key to developing well-rounded professionals in the field.
As program director, Suchomel aims to help students to become leaders in the sports science and strength and conditioning field by providing them with ample opportunities including hands-on experience with the Pitt Athletics teams and research focused on enhancing and monitoring athlete performance. Suchomel believes that the unique relationships that exist between academics, athletics, sports medicine and nutrition at Pitt allow students to receive a unique education that is not offered anywhere else.
