Rebecca Smith joins as an Assistant Professor, teaching in the areas of cardiopulmonary, health promotion and medically complex clinical practice. She is dual Board-Certified Clinical Specialist in Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Physical Therapy and Geriatric Physical Therapy with 20 years of experience as a physical therapy clinician and clinical educator. She also provides clinical care at the VA Pittsburgh Healthcare system. Her clinical work is in Phase 1 and 2 cardiac rehab and pulmonary rehab and the use of virtual care to treat veterans in a rural setting. She is also the creator of the Home Based Covid Rehabilitation program at VA Pittsburgh, which has been shared with VAs across the country.
She received her MPT degree and Advanced Master's in Physical Therapy from the University of Pittsburgh, her Bachelor of Science in biology and sports medicine from University of Mount Union.
