Shilpa Gaikwad is an educator, scientist and clinician who is not only passionate about providing physical therapy education to her students, but she also strives to inspire and empower them to advance into an evidence-based clinical practitioner who can effectively serve the community. Gaikwad has 15 years of clinical experience practicing in hospital-based and outpatient neurologic physical therapy settings across a diverse patient population and healthcare systems of the USA and India. In her previous position at Nova Southeastern University, Gaikwad taught as a full-time faculty member in the neuroscience and neuromuscular PT course sequence in the DPT program for six years and has also mentored neurologic physical therapy residents and served as a committee member for several PhD in Physical Therapy students. She has taught physical therapy students for 11 years in the areas of neuroscience and neurologic physical therapy starting in India and now in the USA.
