On February 25, 2021, the Pitt COTAD Chapter hosted an engaging and informative panel presentation titled "Culturally Inclusive ADLs" (activities of daily living). Nearly 300 attendees from across the United States, United Kingdom and Canada participated in this interprofessional opportunity, attesting to the event's success. Members of the Pitt COTAD Chapter and their panelists provided an exceptional learning opportunity for health care professionals that centered around skin, hair, and cultural dress and head coverings, that contribute to providing a more culturally inclusive and healing treatment milieu for all individuals.
The Coalition of Occupational Therapy Advocates for Diversity (COTAD) is a non-profit, grassroots student organization that operates as groups from across the United States working toward a common goal of promoting diversity and inclusion within the occupational therapy workforce and increasing the ability of occupational therapy practitioners to serve an increasingly diverse population.

The University of Pittsburgh COTAD Chapter in the Department of Occupational Therapy was established in August 2020.
