Kara Kobal earned a Doctor of Physical Therapy degree at the University of Pittsburgh and a Doctor of Health Science degree at Drexel University. She is a board certified pediatric clinical specialist. In addition to her many years of faculty experience, including both teaching and residency responsibilities, she remains an actively practicing clinician. She has worked as a physical therapist in a variety of settings, including: acute care, inpatient and outpatient rehabilitation, home health, and school-based physical therapy. She actively serves in leadership in the American Physical Therapy Association, Pennsylvania, and has held numerous leadership positions within the organization. Her national involvement in the profession of physical therapy includes: past presenter at IV Step conference, member of American Council of Academic Physical Therapy’s clinical reasoning consortium and work group member, and APTA’s Academy of Education Residency and Fellowship Director SIG and pediatric shared curriculum task force member. Kobal serves her community through a variety of ways, including acting as a clinical director of FUNfitness for Special Olympics Pennsylvania and as Girl Scout troop leader.
