Karl is the online continuing education coordinator in the Department of Rehabilitation Science & Technology (RST), a position he has held since 2016. His responsibilities involve managing RST’s continuing education content, instructing the ongoing “AT CERT” assistive technology course, and supporting the department’s International Seating Symposium. Karl’s areas of experience include building and managing online courses, curriculum design, and using research and technology to build effective educational tools.
At the University of Pittsburgh, Karl earned his Bachelor of Science in Rehabilitation Science and Master of Science in Rehabilitation Technology. His research focused on assistive technology, telehealth, and home modification. He continues to be involved in projects promoting home and community access for people with disabilities and he is passionate about these issues both personally and professionally.
