Executive Director of Student Affairs, Jessica Maguire
SHRS Students, Faculty and Staff:
I am pleased to announce that Director of Admissions Jessica Maguire is now Executive Director of Student Affairs at the University of Pittsburgh School of Health and Rehabilitation Sciences (SHRS). In this position, she will provide strategic direction and oversight of admissions, advisement, student engagement and student services. She will advise and advocate for students and student groups, and collaborate closely with and advise the dean, vice dean, associate deans, department chairs and program directors.
“I am excited to work in new ways with the amazing Student Affairs team, continue to collaborate with colleagues at SHRS and partners throughout the University to expand programming, engagement opportunities and support services for SHRS students,” expresses Maguire. “ I am fully committed to advancing our school’s equity, diversity and inclusion efforts, and I am dedicated to supporting the academic success and career goals of our students. I want to ensure every student feels welcomed and knows there is a community of support here for them at SHRS.”
Maguire has 17 years of university experience. She joined the Office of the Dean at SHRS in 2006 and held positions in student services and admissions before being promoted to director of admissions where she has led and grown the admissions team. Maguire has experience working with undergraduate, accelerated, and graduate residential, hybrid and online students and programs and possesses extensive knowledge of university systems, policies and procedures.
Vice Dean David Beck says,
“Personally, I have appreciated Jessica's dedication to the success of SHRS students, and I look forward to working with her to implement the great ideas she has for continuously improving the student experience.”
Known for her ability to execute, implement and problem-solve, Maguire has consistently worked to improve the quality and efficiency of admissions operations, especially to benefit our students and those interested in pursuing their academic and career goals through SHRS. She recently implemented Salesforce and Marketing Cloud as part of the admissions process, transitioned the majority of the graduate and certificate programs at SHRS to GradCAS—Pitt’s first enterprise graduate application—and worked with university partners to develop an application for admission to SHRS’ undergraduate and accelerated programs.
“Jessica has an amazing understanding of all facets of the student journey. Her collegiality along with her technical prowess add to the list of attributes she brings to this new role,”
states Associate Dean for Academic Outreach & Advising Kathy Kelly.
Maguire earned her Master of Arts in interdisciplinary studies with a focus on art history and gender studies from Sonoma State University, Santa Rosa, CA, and her Bachelor of Arts degree in art history with a minor in women’s studies from Cal Poly Humboldt, Arcata, CA. Before moving to Pennsylvania, she lived in North Carolina, South Carolina, Northern California, Maryland and Thailand where she attended the International School of Bangkok.
Please join me in congratulating Jessica on her new role!
Sincerely,
Anthony Delitto
