Where do students work after graduation?
We have alumni at most of the major wheelchair manufacturers, other
medical device companies, and state and federal agencies (e.g. The
Department of Veterans' Affairs). Students graduate with a comprehensive blend of
clinical and technical skills and are prepared for both service delivery
and industrial environments. View our alumni profiles.
Are there any prerequisites?
All prerequisite courses must be completed prior to enrolling in the program. To be eligible, applicants must have completed the following 3-credit courses: Statistics, English Composition or Technical Writing, and Human Anatomy and Physiology.
What is the application deadline?
For students residing in the US, we offer rolling admission (applications must be received no later than the last Friday in July). For international students, applications must be received by March 15.
When are admission decisions made?
Only completed applications will be reviewed by the Admissions Committee. Most application decisions will be made within 4-6 weeks after completed applications are received.
Is financial aid available?
You can obtain information on financial aid from the Office of Financial Aid at the University of Pittsburgh. To learn about additional resources available to you, please also visit Other Funding Opportunities.
Are fellowships available?
A limited number of research fellowships are available. This generally requires completion of a MS thesis and up to four semesters to complete. Interested students should apply early in the admissions cycle (I.e. early fall the year prior to desired enrollment date). Competitive applicants will fit at least one of the following criteria: research experience, competitive undergraduate GPA, relevant academic background, represent an underrepresented group (e.g. student with a disability or ethnic minorities), and/or present a financial need. Students should indicate their interest in the "RST masters' fellowship" in their personal statement. Qualified applicants will be invited to interview after their official acceptance to the MS RT program.
