The Master of Rehabilitation Technology (MRT) coursework is offered in an online format to prepare graduates from anywhere to become leaders in the field of assistive technology and to earn their credential as an Assistive Technology Professional (ATP). One in-person immersion is required to gain valuable hands-on experience.

This degree enhances skills in assistive and rehabilitation technology. Graduates are more than prepared to become an Assistive Technology Professional (ATP).
Format(s)
Coursework is 100% online, but students come to the University’s Oakland campus in Pittsburgh to participate in the Deep Dive Immersions.
Students also complete an in-person, 240-hour clinical practicum/internship during the summer term. This internship can be completed within a clinic, hospital, community organization, school, manufacturing or supply company, or any other approved facility.
The University of Pittsburgh Master of Rehabilitation Technology Program is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) upon the recommendations of the Committee on Accreditation for Rehabilitation Engineering and Assistive Technology Education (CoA-RATE).
