1. What was your educational/professional background before coming to the MSRT program?
I had a bachelor’s degree in occupational therapy and a master of science in child development.
2. How has your career progressed since you graduated from the MSRT program?
After the completion of my MSRT, I received a scholarship to the PhD program at the same department, with a different advisor. I completed my PhD in 2008. I also did a post doc training from 2008 to 2011.
3. In your current employment, what are your duties and responsibilities?
I am an assistant professor at the Occupational Therapy Department at UT Health Science Center in San Antonio, Texas. I spend most of my time teaching and doing research.
4. Is there any information you would like to share, or any advice you would like to offer current and future MSRT students?
As a student, we were very encouraged to submit abstracts to conferences. It was a great experience to network and learn what happens outside of the university. The professors were experts in their respective fields.
