molding better futures

There’s something for everyone in the field of speech-language pathology. Perhaps you want to help children who stutter or have a language impairment, or elderly patients who cannot speak clearly because of stroke or other neurological problems. Or maybe you’re interested in pursuing research related to swallowing disorders. Start your journey with a Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology at Pitt.

Ranked fifth in the nation by U.S. News & World Report, our program arms you with a broad knowledge base, a keen understanding of the ethical responsibilities of SLP clinicians and exceptional problem-solving skills. Under the guidance of faculty mentors, you will learn to deliver speech-language pathology services in real-world settings from Day 1 of your program. Our clinical partners include both adult and pediatric sites such as the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center, the VA Medical Center, Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh, Pittsburgh Public Schools and early intervention agencies that provide services to infants and toddlers.

Our graduates successfully pass their national board examinations at the end of their program and 100% gain employment as speech-language pathologists.
