Biography

Xingyu Mark Zhang specializes in Biostatistics and Epidemiology and the Director of the Integrated Biostatistics and Outcomes Research (IBOR) Lab). Prior to joining the University of Pittsburgh, he served as a Research Assistant Professor at the University of Michigan and gained valuable experience as a postdoctoral research fellow in biostatistics at Emory University. His work has led to over 80 coauthored peer-reviewed journal articles, spanning biostatistical methods and clinical research publications. Zhang’s passion for teaching stems from his deep-rooted curiosity and dedication to making complex statistical concepts accessible to all students. His journey into biostatistics began during his undergraduate studies in statistics, where the intersection of data analysis and health care ignited his interest. Zhang finds immense fulfillment in mentoring students, guiding them through the intricacies of biostatistics and fostering a learning environment where they can thrive.
