Biography

Stephanie Vasquez Gabela is part of the Wireless RERC focusing on Smart Home Technology for people with disabilities.  

Gabela splits her time into clinical, research and engineering aspects of Assistive Technology (AT). She is a rehabilitation engineer at the Center for Assistive Technology and UPMC Mercy where she works closely with people with disabilities in in-patient and out-patient settings.  

Gabela is interested in increasing access to assistive technology services and devices and has a great interest in worldwide efforts to reduce inequalities for people with disabilities in less-resourced countries.
