Owen Traynor began his Emergency Medical Services (EMS) career in 1978, serving as a volunteer EMT/Firefighter in the NYC suburbs. He worked as a NYC Paramedic throughout the 1980s. Traynor completed his emergency medicine residency and an EMS fellowship at the University of Pittsburgh. Since completing his training, he has worked in community emergency medicine. Traynor is the medical director for Paramedic Education at the University of Pittsburgh and the Center for Emergency Medicine. He is also the director of prehospital care at St. Clair Health. He is the medical director for several EMS services.
