Laxmi Velankar is a pediatric physical therapist. In addition to providing clinical rehabilitation care, she also led and participated in many quality and process improvement activities
During the COVID-19 pandemic, Velankar pursued the online master’s degree in health informatics with a strong desire to learn how to use the health care data that clinical providers like her enter into medical records when they provide care. In 2022, she transitioned into her current full-time position as a quality improvement specialist. She misses the hands-on clinical service immensely but is thoroughly enjoying the opportunity to marry the extensive front-end experience and provider skill set with data-driven approaches to streamline workflows and standardize clinical protocols to influence a positive impact on staff vitality and patient outcomes.
