Biography

Laura Ohlund works in the IMPACT center for SHRS. She is a commercialization expert around life science and AI technologies and actively guides early and mid-stage entrepreneurs from ideas to revenue. Her focus is on go-to-market strategies, development of revenue models, company formation and governance and execution of technical milestones. Her roles in the Pittsburgh ecosystem outside IMPACT include an I-corps trained instructor and an advisor to dozens of companies personally and as an expert with AlphaLabs Health, the University of Pittsburgh Innovation Institute and LifeX Global.
Her roots stem from her computer science education where her work in AI and cognitive psychology formed the foundation of her customer centered approach to problem solving. As profoundly deaf with some hearing of the lower tones in her right ear, her communications are primarily through lip reading.
