Biography

Jenee McGurgan’s career began to intertwine with education and clinical practice when she joined the Department of Sports Medicine and Nutrition in 2013.

Her expertise lies in clinical nutrition, particularly in managing complex gastrointestinal disorders and nutrition support. Her passion for teaching stems from her clinical experiences where she focused on enhancing quality of life while optimizing nutrition and disease management.

In her role as clinical coordinator, McGurgan is responsible for overseeing and coordinating student supervised experiential learning (SEL) in various domains such as clinical dietetics, food service management, long-term care and specialty rotations.

Throughout her career, McGurgan has held significant roles, including eleven years as a dietitian for the gastrointestinal rehabilitation and transplant program at UPMC.
