Biography

Candace van der Stelt is pursuing her PhD studies under the mentorship of Professors Sarah Wallace and Michael Dickey. She began her studies at the University of Pittsburgh in August 2023. She is excited to work with The Pittsburgh Translational Aphasia Research Initiative to conduct research that is focused on increasing the quality of life for individuals living with post-stroke aphasia. She is specifically interested in helping people re-gain literacy skills after stroke in order to return to work and maximize independence in daily life.
