Amy Aggelou, entering her 20th year as faculty at the University of Pittsburgh.
With 30 years of experience as an athletic trainer, Aggelou has worked with a diverse range of patient populations across high school, collegiate and professional settings. This background provides Aggelou with the expertise to offer students insights into the real-world challenges and practices of athletic training. Prior to becoming the program director of the Athletic Training Program at Pitt, Amy served as the program’s clinical education coordinator for 10 years.
Aggelou has served as a member of the University Senate’s Educational Policies Committee for 10 years and currently serves as a member of the University’s Athletics and Recreation Committee. She is also the District 2 Representative for the National Athletic Trainer Association (NATA) Specialty Awards Committee and a member of the Pennsylvania Athletic Trainers’ Society (PATS) Educators Committee.
In addition to her teaching at Pitt, Amy also provides instruction for American Red Cross as an Instructor for CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer, for the American College of Surgeons as a Stop the Bleed Instructor and Sports Safety International as a ConcussionWise Instructor.
In addition, she serves as the faculty advisor for Pitt Club Softball, fostering a passion for athletics both at home and in her professional life.
