Tiwanda Taylor is the director of Advising and Student Success. She will oversee all aspects of academic advising for undergraduate students in SHRS. Tiwanda previously served in the following departments at Pitt: the Office of Admissions and Financial Aid, the College of General Studies and the College of Business Administration. Within her roles, Tiwanda managed an advising team, coordinated recruitment territories and served as a program assistant for two international programs (Madrid, Spain and Costa Rica). She is the recipient of the 2021 Chancellor's Award for Student Impact, one of the University of Pittsburgh's highest staff honors. Her experience in higher education spans over 25 years. Tiwanda earned the following Pitt degrees: a Bachelor of Arts in communication and Africana studies through Pitt’s School of Arts and Sciences and a master's degree through the Graduate School of Public and International Affairs. Tiwanda is currently pursuing her doctorate (EdD) degree through the School of Education.
