Paulina Villacreces is assistant professor in the Department of Rehabilitation Science and Technology. She serves as director of Product Development for the Healthy Home Laboratory initiative to design, develop, evaluate and translate assistive technologies to support individuals to age in place. Her research interests focus on designing, developing and evaluating new and existing assistive technology. Her aim is to provide innovative solutions to obtain optimal human-environment interactions and promote human health and wellbeing. Prior to joining Pitt, Villacreces was co-founder and CEO of Pro-Movilidad, a company that specializes in research, design and development of assistive technology for people with disabilities in less resourced settings in Ecuador.
