Pitt OT 40 Year Celebration
On the evening of October 6, Pitt OT welcomed over 60 alumni, friends, current students, faculty and staff to a celebration of the department’s 40 years of growth and accomplishments. There was a buzz in the air during the event as new connections were made and old connections renewed. The event was captured in photos and a video produced by Pitt student Stephanie Klotz (OTD ’23).
The event was a time to open and showcase Pitt OT’s teaching, research and office spaces in the Bridgeside Point I building to all who attended. Additional components of the event included a timeline paying tribute to accomplishments within the field of occupational therapy and in the OT department, the contents of the SHRS 50th anniversary time capsule placed by the OT department in 1996, a photo booth, special appearance by Pitt’s mascot Roc and remarks by Professor Juleen Rodakowski, Pitt OT’s chair. Rodakowski summed up her remarks by stating, “Thank you for celebrating 40 years, I look forward to celebrating the next 40, 80 or 100 years to come!”
