Center for Interprofessional Studies (CIP)

The SHRS Center for Interprofessional Studies’ mission is to design, facilitate, support and evaluate SHRS interprofessional education that translates into improved individual and population health outcomes.

Interprofessional Studies Student Group

The Center for Interprofessional Studies Student Group welcomes current students to learn more about ways to strengthen interprofessional education in SHRS. The group is open to both undergraduate and graduate students.

Semester of Series | Spring 2025: Aging in Place/Home Care

As part of the "Semester of..." series, SHRS Center for Interprofessional Studies works towards a shared commitment to building competency among our students in our SHRS Interprofessional Guiding Principles in specific topic areas.

Interprofessional Seed award

The SHRS Center for Interprofessional Studies offers and coordinates the Interprofessional Education Seed Award program. The awards recognize faculty, staff and/or students for projects that enhance interprofessional teaching of SHRS students and foster new programming or the expansion of existing events to include students from other disciplines within SHRS. Project budgets must not exceed $5,000; proposals with total budgets less than $2,500 are strongly encouraged. Projects that include an initiative (e.g. student or continuing education event) related to the ‘Semester Of’ themes (Spring 2025 Theme: Semester of Aging in Place/Home Care) are eligible for a $750 bonus award.

Students are invited to apply for the inaugural global learning experience course in Saint Kitts during the Spring 2025 semester! SHRS Interprofessional Health Care in St. Kitts: Bridging Disciplines for Global Health Equity will take students on a journey of history, interprofessional assessment and diagnosis immersion. This is a semester long experience highlighted by travelling to the stunning island of St. Kitts during spring break, where you’ll engage in a dynamic exploration of global health challenges and solutions.

In this course, you will have the chance for interprofessional collaboration and gain hands-on experience in international health care settings and contribute to meaningful projects aimed at improving health equity for families on St. Kitts. The island offers a vibrant backdrop for this journey, combining beautiful landscapes with rich cultural experiences that will enhance both your personal and professional development.
