Program Outcomes

Training with impactful thought leaders in the sports science profession means Pitt students are well prepared to optimize human performance in athletic, military, community, private, clinical and research settings.

Graduates of the Sports Science program will:

  • Demonstrate knowledge in physiology, nutrition, human performance assessment, research methodology and data analytics;
  • Contribute to the growth of sports science through original research and innovation during an immersive internship experience; and
  • Be well-prepared to make immediate and impactful contributions as a sports science professional.

Students in this program enjoy small class sizes that allow for optimal engagement and feedback from the instructors and opportunities to practice hands-on skills.

Graduates of this program:
  • Work as sport scientists in professional and collegiate settings
  • Work as strength and conditioning coaches in professional, collegiate, tactical, high school and private settings
  • Work for various technology and equipment companies in the sport science field
