Research Opportunities

View schoolwide clinical participation requirements
  • Students will have exposure and opportunities to collaborate with many disciplines in rehabilitation and medicine including occupational therapy, physical therapy, rehabilitation science and technology, counseling, sports medicine and nutrition, prosthetics and orthotics, physical medicine and rehabilitation, orthopaedic surgery and psychiatry.
    • There are also opportunities for international collaborations.
  • Students will be able to experience a wide variety of research activity across many patient populations within the PhD program.
    • These types of rehabilitation research include:
      • clinical observational and randomized trials
      • clinical outcomes research
      • health service research
      • biomechanical analyses of human movement in health and diseased states
      • assistive technologies
      • rehabilitation technical product development
      • health and wellness
      • human performance optimization
      • psychological aspects of rehabilitation
      • counseling, and more!
  • Many of our mentors and departments have affiliations and collaborations with a major integrated health care system and the Veterans Administration (VA).
