August 15, 2025 with rolling admissions.
The deadline for international student applications (F-1 students) is May 1.
Students apply through the Graduate Centralized Application System (GradCAS).
The application fee is $50 (U.S.).
Applicants are required to provide transcripts from all U.S. universities, colleges or other higher education institutions attended.
Admitted students will need to submit official transcripts to the SHRS Admissions Office prior to enrolling in classes.
Provide evidence of graduate level writing skills as demonstrated in a self-evaluation essay that discusses goals, strengths, skills and experiences that will contribute to success in the program and in the profession. This essay should include a brief statement discussing the applicant’s interest in the field of study and reasons for applying to the University of Pittsburgh. Applicants should mention their interest in fellowships in this personal essay.
Submit two (2) letters of recommendation, preferably from individuals who have taught applicants in academic settings and/or supervised clinical or research activities. These letters should address academic, professional and personal attributes and potential for meaningful graduate study.
Applications are accepted on a rolling basis until the class is full. It is recommended to apply as early as possible (early to mid-spring) especially if seeking a fellowship/scholarship, (such as AccelerATe). However, applications are accepted until the deadline.
Resume or CV must be submitted through the GradCAS application.
The following requirements are necessary for applicants from outside of the U.S.
For questions about the international student requirements, please reach out to the SHRS Admissions Office.
International applicants should know that as students they will be required to come to the University of Pittsburgh one to two times the MRT program. Preparation for travel in living arrangements, documentation and the additional costs should be considered when applying for this program.
Students who have completed the equivalent of a baccalaureate degree or higher at an institution outside of the United States are required to provide an academic credential evaluation from Educational Credential Evaluators, Inc. or World Education Services (WES), Inc. with their application.
