Program Outcomes

This program allows students with undergraduate degrees in areas other than communication science and disorders (CSD) to enroll as a non-degree student in the department while students complete the necessary prerequisite courses for most CSD graduate programs. The prerequisite courses can be completed in one year (a fall-spring sequence) or spread out over two or more years.

Common Paths

All post-baccalaureate students are coming to this program to prepare for graduate studies in speech-language pathology or other graduate programs in communication sciences. Many graduates go on for graduate school, and stay with Pitt SHRS.

Completion of the post-baccalaureate program or courses does not guarantee admission to any of the SHRS CSD graduate programs.

The School of Health and Rehabilitation Sciences (SHRS) does not have a contiguous post-baccalaureate to master’s degree program. Application is required for admission to any of the graduate programs.
