Degree Completion is offered in two formats: traditional on-campus or asynchronous online.
Currently certified paramedics or U.S. SOCOM Advanced Tactical Paramedics may enter the Emergency Medicine program as Emergency Medicine Degree Completion students (senior transfers), and complete their bachelor’s degree in two terms with 100% online, asynchronous courses. If the applicant has 51 prerequisite and general education credits, they are eligible for this entry point. Interested students should contact the enrollment specialist for a prerequisite credit evaluation.
These students must complete 30 core credits within the University of Pittsburgh School of Health and Rehabilitation Sciences to earn an undergraduate degree.

Students enrolled in the online degree completion option will complete all 30 credits of EM curriculum in a web-based, asynchronous format from anywhere in the world. Online Degree Completion students will engage with the coursework at their own pace to meet assignment and exam deadlines. The online coursework is a set curriculum without elective options. Our in-class synchronous Degree Completion students may participate in elective options.
This path starts every spring and fall.
