SHRS Open House
Every fall, interested students can visit Oakland’s campus in Pittsburgh for an in-person programs expo and learn what the School of Health and Rehabilitation Sciences has to offer!
Meet faculty, students and industry professionals as you explore the academic and career paths available to you through SHRS! Whether you’re in high school, or you’re an undergraduate, graduate, transfer or nontraditional student, this is an excellent opportunity to learn firsthand about our school’s programs and what’s possible at Pitt SHRS.

Making the Most of Your SHRS Open House Experience
Before the Event
- Research the programs available at SHRS.
- Prepare questions for faculty and student representatives. Questions may address financial aid, program requirements, course offerings, facilities, location, student life, faculty and program reputation.
- Be prepared to answer questions such as:
- Why do you want to attend graduate school? When?
- What would you like to do with this degree?
- Dress casually, but appropriately. Remember, you want to make a good first impression.
During the Event
- Visit all the tables! Most programs have faculty and current students eager to talk with you.
- After talking with a representative, make some quick notes on the information you received.
After the Event
- Follow up with any additional contacts recommended to you.
- Take advantage of contacts made during the event and ask any follow up questions that you have after the event.
