Biography

Zachary Roy’s primary focus is with the Healthy Home Laboratory (HHL), a multidisciplinary lab focused on addressing the complex challenges around aging in place. In his role, Roy contributes to the product development activities of the HHL by designing, iterating and testing prototypes of novel assistive technologies with the rest of the HHL team. He also manages the day-to-day research operations of the HHL, supports educational initiatives at the lab and engages with external partners to produce multidisciplinary collaborations. Roy enjoys the multidisciplinary nature of his work at the HHL—interfacing with experts across Pitt SHRS, School of Public Health and Swanson School of Engineering (SSOE). He is also currently a graduate student in SSOE’s Medical Product Engineering Master’s program.
