Biography

Pamela (Pam) Rikstad acts as a senior administrator to the department chair, providing advanced and comprehensive support for the department’s administrative, human resources and financial functions. She participates in the hiring processes for faculty, staff, students, academic appointments and temporary employees, including their orientation to the department. Additionally, she conducts thorough analyses of financial data and forecasts projections, with a primary emphasis on operating accounts and discretionary accounts.

Rikstad has nearly 25 years’ experience in higher education administration, including 17 years at the University of Pittsburgh. She has been actively involved in various community activities and initiatives at Pitt, serving on the Senate Educational Policies Committee and the Title IX Appeals Board. Additionally, she has been a Pitt Worx Champion and continues to be a United Way Campaign Ambassador and a Staff Council Member.
