Biography

Cynthia McCarthy is a bioethicist, specializing in health care ethics. She also serves as the director of the undergraduate bioethics certificate in the School of Public Health at the University of Pittsburgh.

McCarthy has been teaching bioethics to pre-health care professionals and pre-medical professionals since 1999. She has been a faculty member of the University of Pittsburgh since 2009.

McCarthy’s consulting work primarily revolves around the education of health care professionals and those working in the realm of public health. She has also devoted a considerable amount of time to behavioral health accreditation and ethics committees over the course of the last 20 years.
