Biography

Hallie Zeleznik’s experience prior to transitioning into a full-time academic faculty position included 23 years of progressive clinical and leadership roles within the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center Rehabilitation Institute. Her current and past leadership roles have focused on using quality improvement and knowledge translation to implement evidence-based care across large geographic areas, often impacting hundreds of people. She has been intricately involved in understanding, maximizing and building electronic-medical record solutions that support the future of a value-based health care system through regular and standardized use of outcome measures, developing dashboards and reports to ensure data-driven decisions and most importantly, ensuring that all stakeholders are considered in decision-making. Across the board as a clinician and leader, Zeleznik strongly values and works to build trusting relationships with a focus on gathering information and learning from those around her. This focus on relationship building aligns closely with her role overseeing Clinical Education for the Department.
