Shireesh Bhalerao was born in Saskatoon, Canada and graduated from Western States Chiropractic College (now University of Western States, UWS) in 2000.
In his time living in Portland, OR, Bhalerao became an Associate Professor and Chair of the Department of Chiropractic Sciences at UWS. His teaching expertise is in the realms of spinal and extraspinal diagnosis and management and evidence-based practice (EBP).
Prior to his current appointment in the Doctor of Chiropractic Program at the University of Pittsburgh, he had been an Adjunct Assistant Professor in the Department of Physical Therapy Primary Spine Practitioner Certification Program. He is also currently co-authoring a new edition of the textbook Chiropractic Technique: Principles and Procedures.
Bhalerao is passionate about further integrating the chiropractic field with the medical profession to improve patient outcomes. He has recently created a research collaboration between several Portland chiropractic clinics and the Oregon Health and Science University Department of Rheumatology and has been actively publishing the results of this work in peer-reviewed medical journals.
