Kelsey Voltz-Poremba is involved with many aspects of clinical education in the department of occupational therapy, specifically community-based experiences. She is passionate about occupational therapy and the holistic client-centered approach it offers to an individual’s rehabilitation. She has expertise in working with pediatrics and individuals across the lifespan with developmental disabilities and loves imparting this knowledge to her students. Growing up with a sibling with a disability has inspired her throughout her career to help better the lives of those with disabilities and their families and ultimately led her to becoming an occupational therapist. She feels that occupational therapists have an important role in community health and enjoys helping the students understand occupational therapists’ role in this setting through her role as the capstone coordinator. In addition to her academic responsibilities, she serves as the faculty advisor for the University of Pittsburgh Student Occupational Therapy Association (UPSOTA).
