Sylvia Owusu-Ansah has spent a majority of her career developing curriculums and providing education for Emergency Medical Services (EMS) personnel in both urban and suburban environments, including Washington DC, Baltimore, Pittsburgh and government agencies such as the United States Secret Service. Currently, she is heading one of the first prehospital tracks for pediatric emergency medicine fellows.
Owusu-Ansah accepted the position of inaugural chair for the diversity task force for the National Association for EMS Physicians and was nominated to serve on the Rapid Response Team in the School of Medicine to aid in providing solutions that address systemic racism.
