Nutrition Science focuses on how food plays a vital role in our overall health and the management and prevention of disease. This undergraduate program provides a solid foundation for career opportunities in nutrition research, the food industry, public policy and public health. The curriculum provides valuable and in-depth education in nutrition for future health care providers and offers the flexibility to fulfill prerequisite coursework for graduate education in almost any health-related professional program such as medicine, physician assistant studies, dental medicine and more.

Format(s)
Nutrition Science students have the opportunity to participate in undergraduate research or select independent study as an elective.
Graduates are prepared to implement the knowledge and skills learned in nutrition science in research, industry, government and non-governmental organizations.
Nutrition Science is also a great precursor for other graduate programs including medical school, physician assistant studies, dental medicine, physical therapy, chiropractic, sports science and public health.
Students interested in becoming a physician assistant can apply for the Guaranteed Admissions Program (GAP) for the SHRS Physician Assistant Studies (MS) program, including the hybrid program.
