Fall University Commencement

Join fellow members of your graduating class at the university-wide Winter Commencement Ceremony. Wednesday, December 18, 2024 at 3 p.m. John M. and Gertrude E. Petersen Events Center

REGISTRATION for University Commencement

All eligible candidates, who have graduated or are graduating between May 2024 - December 2024, were sent an invitation on Oct. 7, 2024 from the Office of Special Events (commencement@pitt.edu). The invitation goes to the candidate's PITT EMAIL ADDRESS. 

An RSVP link is provided within the invitation.

NOTE: Responses after this date and time will not be accepted. A confirmation email is automatically sent to the candidate upon successful completion of the registration.

DID YOU KNOW?
There is a difference between Graduation and Commencement. Applying for graduation with the University Registrar and registering to attend the Winter Commencement Ceremony with the Office of Special Events are two separate processes.
Applying to graduate does not reserve your space to participate in thecommencement ceremony. You must complete the registration link  in your invitation to participate in the WinterCommencement Ceremony.

  • Tuesday, November 19 | Portrait Opportunity - Get your professional and graduate portrait taken by M&M Photography. William Pitt Union Ballroom - 9 a.m. - 4 p.m.

SHRS Spring Graduation Ceremonies & Undergraduate University Commencement

SHRS Spring Graduation Ceremonies

SHRS will host two graduation ceremonies in April yearly. 

  • 2025 SHRS Spring Graduation Ceremonies will be held on Saturday, May 3rd at Soldiers & Sailors Memorial Hall. 
  • There will be a morning ceremony & there will be an afternoon ceremony.  Departments will divided up amongst the ceremonies.  More information on what ceremony your department will be attending will be released in February 2025.
  • Undergraduate and Graduate students graduating in April, June and August will receive an email invitation and RSVP link to these ceremonies in their Pitt email approximately two months prior to the event.

University Commencement for Undergraduate (only)

  • The University will also hold a University-wide UNDERGADUATE ONLY Commencement at the Peterson Event Center, tenatively schedule for Sunday, May 4th.  All eligible candidates, will received an invitation in their Pitt email for the university-wide ceremony from the Office of Special Events (commencement@pitt.edu). 

More information on all of the 2025 graduation ceremonies will be posted here in February 2025.
